Introduction
Founded in 1974, the Columbia Business Exchange (CBX) provides
Howard County business people with an informal, economical, and
highly accessible networking forum through which to meet other
area professionals. Geared toward the needs of the smaller of
our community's businesses, the CBX's primary goal is to promote
member businesses and foster a supportive, friendly business networking
venue for members and non-members alike.
CBX mixers take place monthly at restaurants throughout Howard
County. Informal and intimate, these evening functions encourage
one-on-one contact and make it easy for participants to meet,
talk, and most importantly, make business contacts. Many members
are highly active in the community, energetic promoters of Howard
County, Columbia, and the entrepreneurial spirit that makes the
area special.
CBX is governed by a Board of
Directors elected by the membership. The board is responsible
for establishing meeting dates, themes, locations, and speakers.
Meetings are held the first Thursday of every month, year round.
Members are notified of CBX activities through our bi-monthly
newsletter and monthly reminders which are mailed to each member.
